Resolution on House Tax Cut
Bill
Whereas on December 2, 2010
the Democratic-led House of Representatives passed a bill to end the marriage
penalty and to cut taxes for all US residents; and
Whereas Republican
Congressional leaders have announced their opposition to the House-passed tax
cut bill and have pledged to use any and all parliamentary processes to prevent
the bill from being sent to President Obama;
Be it resolved the SCCDCC
commends and thanks Congressmembers Eshoo, Honda and Lofgren for voting in
favor of an end to the marriage penalty and in favor of tax cuts for all US
residents' first $200,000 of personal income and first $250,000 of joint
income; and
Be it further resolved that
the SCCDCC asks Senators Boxer and Feinstein to lead any and all efforts to
force a majority vote in the Senate on the House-passed bill, including the use
of reconciliation or other effective parliamentary processes.
