Resolution on House Tax Cut Bill

Whereas on December 2, 2010 the Democratic-led House of Representatives passed a bill to end the marriage penalty and to cut taxes for all US residents; and

Whereas Republican Congressional leaders have announced their opposition to the House-passed tax cut bill and have pledged to use any and all parliamentary processes to prevent the bill from being sent to President Obama;

Be it resolved the SCCDCC commends and thanks Congressmembers Eshoo, Honda and Lofgren for voting in favor of an end to the marriage penalty and in favor of tax cuts for all US residents' first $200,000 of personal income and first $250,000 of joint income; and

Be it further resolved that the SCCDCC asks Senators Boxer and Feinstein to lead any and all efforts to force a majority vote in the Senate on the House-passed bill, including the use of reconciliation or other effective parliamentary processes.
