Grey - Our membership continues to grow; 72 total paid members. We had
over 60 people at the Dec 1st Democracy For America Meetup,
which we use as our monthly club outreach meeting. Like last month, we
combined into a single location from our usual two, for a holiday potluck in a
private home. We were pleased to have a number of activists from the
Kerry campaign. We
collected donations for a program sponsored by DFACorps (Democracy for
America’s community service arm) who will match donations of phone cards and
provide them to wounded veterans and soldiers serving overseas. Our next club organizing
meeting will be Monday, December 13th (location tbd) and our next
DFA Meetup will be Wednesday, January 5th (more info at http://dfa.meetup.com/159)

Chris discussed the vote patterns in the south, showing the battle that we face
nationally
Also led a discussion on choosing the next DNC chair

Pro-Choice Coalition: Claudia Shope
Congressman Henry Waxman showed the failure of abstinence only programs and the
falsehoods being taught. Luckily
California doesn’t take money for these programs. Many states do.
”Abortion non-discrimination law” – any health care provider can refuse to
provide options. House passed this law,
but not the Senate.

DTV Report: Steve Chessin
The
November
taping
was with Political Science Professor Terry Christensen, who analyzed the election
results for us.
Our
guest in December will be our own Anne Mack. We will be on San Jose AT&T Channel 15A
December 2nd with the show we taped with Steve Chessin, December 16th and
January 13th with the show we
taped with Dr. Christensen, and December 30th and January 27th with the show we will tape
with Anne Mack.
Our
shows are also aired in Mountain View, Los Altos, Palo Alto, Stanford, East Palo
Alto, Menlo Park, Atherton, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Morgan
Hill, and San Martin. The complete schedule is posted at the Santa
Clara County Democratic Party web site, sccdp.org. Our airdates in Morgan Hill keep changing; they
now seem to be 8:30pm every
Monday and Tuesday.
