Two new Straight Talk TV shows are now on

Ritchie explained the rights guaranteed in the First Amendment to a group of
boy and girl scouts. Even most adults
can learn some interesting things from this lesson. On the second show Watergate whistleblower
and author John W. Dean talks about the content of his latest book,
"Broken Government." He
explains why all three branches of the government have been corrupted by the
Bush administration. See these shows at

Shope
The polling numbers that
came out last week showed No on Prop 4 at 41% and Yes on 4 at 48%. Although it
seems somewhat alarming, this is exactly the same situation that we were in at
this point in the campaign season for Props 73 and 85. It is with the help of
our volunteers that we have to earn every No vote by reaching out to voters.
Our goal as a state is to
reach 120,000 undecided voters to tell them how dangerous Prop 4 would be. In
the Santa Clara/Coastal region our portion of that is 11,000 contacts. With 5
weeks to go before the election we have 8,000 more contacts to go. On nights
that we have had a good turnout for phone banks we have made over 600 contacts
in a day! With your help we can reach our goal. We have not let them win and
the past and we will not let them win this third time around.
Phone Banks are running
in San Jose every Wednesday and Thursday from 6-9 p.m. and every Sunday from
12-3, 3-6 and 6-8:30 p.m. Please sign up to adopt a phone bank and make a
difference in what is proving to be a very close race on this proposition.
Contact Fran at fran_linkin@ppmarmonte.org
to sign up.
Please make sure to check
out all of the new updates on www.noonprop4.org
. Make a video for the YouTube contest and win $1,000, check out all of the
editorials across the state that have denounced Prop 4, and look up events in
your area.
Party Against Props 4 and
8!
Everyone is invited to
come to a party with a purpose this Friday Oct. 3rd at 6 p.m. at the
Billy De Frank Center on the Alameda. Speakers from No on 4 and No on 8 will
explain the props and the importance of working together to defeat them. There
will be music, food and a photo booth, so come and enjoy the company of other
local activists while picking up all your No on 4 and No on 8 materials.
O. DTV Report: Steve Chessin
In absentia,
Democratic Television Producer Steve Chessin reported that our guest in
September was Rose Herrera, candidate for San Jose City Council District 8.

Jose Comcast Channel 15A October 2nd and 30th with Rose Herrera, October 16th
with Hon. Paul Fong, and November 13th and December 4th with whomever we tape
this month.

site for the schedule in the other communities, and to download our shows.
