Dean Club -
At our meeting of Aug. 18, we voted to co-sponsor the John Dean Event. He is a
great speaker and his book "Broken Government" is a must read. We
collected $72 for Veteran's Phone Cards and voted to double the amount. Mary
Gill will purchase and deliver the phone cards to the Palo Alto Veteran's
Hospital. $350 worth of cards were donated after the
March Bake Sale. 6 member voluteers knocked on doors
for Charlie Brown on Aug. 16, and we will have a fundraiser for Charlie Brown
on Sun. Sept. 7, at Stephanie Grossman's house in Palo Alto from 2-4pm. A
fundraiser was held on Aug. 15, at Alice Smith's house in Palo Alto for Jerry
McNerney. The event netted over $1500, not counting online contributions. Club
members will participate in Phone banking and Canvassing
for Jerry McNerney and Charlie Brown on several scheduled dates in Sept. and
Oct., in their districts. We held Democratic Convention Watch Parties on 3
nights - great speeches, fun and discussion.
