Motion that all currently elected to the county committee be appointed to the state central committee to fill 35 of the positions, second, so carried.

Inauguration party on Tuesday, January 20th at 6pm at the IBEW Hall. We will show the acceptance speech and there will be no charge

Alternates need to be appointed & the $25 dues paid by all (covers 2 years).

Roughly $42,000. We will expand our operations this year and will have an office open year round (this will cost about $1,000 per month).

Looking for Bloggers and people to help on the newsletter. We have 2 methods of communication: One is the email group that includes only elected members and alternates. The second method is the yahoo group. You will have to invite yourself to become a member of the yahoo group by sending an email request to be included.

Madison Nguyen: Happy New Year and congratulations to those sworn in this evening.

The fight against the recall is going well, but I do need continued help phone banking and precinct walking. The office is located at 1654 Bodet drive, the phone number is 408. 674.8662 and www.madisonnguyen.com has all of the information. Thank you so much for your help and support on this effort.

We won! I want to make it clear that President elect Obama did not appoint Governor Kane as DNC Chair, he only nominated him.

Democratic Television Volunteer Steve Chessin reported that our guest in December was State Senator Joe Simitian.

 

Our guest in January is TBD.

 

We will be on San Jose Comcast Channel 15A December 4th with State Senator Simitian January 8th and February 5th, and January 22nd with Dr.  Terry Christensen's election analysis.  (The dates in last month's report were incorrect.)  The show we tape this month will be aired February 19th and March 29th.

Steve Chessin: Urge everyone to attend your AD meeting this weekend. Registration begins at 1 and closes at 3.

 

Alyson Abramowitz: many events happening for the inauguration. There is even a ball at the Del Monte Building at 6:30: $65 including a buffet dinner, sponsored by Bay Area For Change. This is the largest Obama group in the area and has almost 700 people on their mailing list.
