Don't fret, just come on over to our new and improved blog! Each day you will find a number of stories, videos and links to the most important and "hot" political stories of the day. Make sure to bookmark our blog so you can easily find out what is happening in the world of politics, nationally, statewide and locally. For instance, the Obama campaign has just released an ad that is perhaps one of the best ads this cycle. It hits back at McCain while at the same time promoting the positives of Obama. The ad was released yesterday, and we have it up on our blog. If you have a breaking story, or one that you think deserves to be on our blog, send us an email with the link and we will do our best to post that as well. Besides national political news, we will continue to inform you on statewide issues, including initiatives. Plus we will have plenty of information on local candidates and measures as we get closer to the election. This election is one of the most important we will see in our lifetimes. Make sure you know what is going on so you can inform your friends and family. Help us register Democrats at our booth at the San Jose Jazz Festival. This is one of the most popular San Jose street fairs of the summer. We will be there Sat & Sun, Aug 9-10 from 12-8pm. To sign up, contact Adrienne at 408-219-4896, or email to volunteer@sccdp.org. View the festival map. Walk-ins are welcome! Look for us in the Circle of Palms area of arts and crafts vendors, near the Fairmont Hotel (outside the festival gates). The Santa Clara County Democratic Party coordinates all local campaign activities for candidates from Obama down to local school boards, plus works to get information out about the statewide initiatives. Our voter registration program ensures that we maintain our strong Democratic voter advantage. Our precinct captain operation gets information out to households in our neighborhoods. Our website and blog keep folks informed with the latest information on endorsed candidates and upcoming events. Help the party continue to provide these services: Very shortly, we will be opening our main San Jose campaign headquarters. From this office, thousands of volunteers will help coordinate the local campaign for Obama and the Democratic ticket. Become a sustaining member by pledging a monthly contribution. Even $10 per month between now and the election will help us make the difference on election day. Congressman Jerry McNerney needs your help if we are going to keep the seat he won in 2006. Here are two events that you can attend to make sure we keep McNerney in Congress:

We Report, You Decide Fact or Fiction? John McCain's new attack ad has yet another lie. Fact or Fiction? John McCain is just like you and me, a man of the people, who wears $500 dollar shoes. Fact or Fiction? A seven square mile piece of ice that just broke off in Canada, proving once again, that there is no global warming. Fact or Fiction? John McCain won't raise your taxes, except when he raises your taxes. Humor Break Bush thinks he has reached the climate change summit: Proposition 8 proponents claim that gay marriage threatens heterosexual marriages: McCain, who considers himself a foreign affairs expert, thinks Iraq borders Pakistan: McCain and Bush want to keep feeding our oil dependencey: If Phil Gramm, McCain's economic advisor, were a doctor: McCain renegs on his pledge to listen to the wishes of Iraq's President: Finally, McCain admitted that he doesn't use computers or the internet:
