The next Century Club luncheon on Friday, March 11, will feature East Bay Assemblywoman Loni Hancock. Hancock has had a varied and distinguished public service career and is known in the Assembly as a strong advocate of "clean money" or public financing of campaigns. Hanock has had a remarkable public service career. She was the first woman mayor of Berkeley, where she helped lead an urban renaissance of that city. From 1994 to 2001, she headed the western Regional Office of the Department
of Education and helped launch many of President Clinton's education initiatives. She has been involved in social justice and environmental issues and during the Carter Administration was the regional director for Action. She is a dynamic political advocate and speaker who will provide a unique insight into California's current political and fiscal problems.
The 27th AD Committee will be meeting on Saturday, March 12, 1:00pm, the SEIU Hall, 11-H Alexander Street, Watsonville. There will be the election of Standing Committee Chairs and the possible adoption of resolutions to be presented at the State Convention. All Morgan Hill and San Martin Democrats are welcome to attend and join the 27th AD Committee. For information contact Committee Chair Skyler Porras.
The 28th AD Committee will be meeting on Sunday, March 13, at 10:30am, at the SEIU Hall, 334 Monterey Street, Salinas. There will be discussion about the State Convention on the agenda. The Silicon Valley Latino Democratic Forum will be holding its annual
membership luncheon on Saturday, March 18th at 11:45am at the Mexican

The South County Democratic Club will meet on Saturday, March 19, at 10:00am at the home of Alex and Yarka Kennett, 15231 Perry Lane, Morgan Hill. The Club will be making an endorsement vote on the Library Parcel Tax (Measures A and B) that will be going out for a mail vote beginning April 8.
