The Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club would like to invite you to our
most important event of the year. On Sunday August 22nd we will be holding
a political rally to kick-off our Beat Bush campaign. Sierra Club President
Larry Fahn will be speaking at the event and we are expecting a good turnout
of over 120 Sierra Club members. This event will kickoff our well-funded
local campaign underway to do phone banking, letter writing, and possibly
roadwarrioring to battleground states. We are planning to have 2 or 3 phone
banks a week in September and October so turnout at this event will be
crucial to generate the volunteer members. I am sure you are aware of the
urgency of this election.
The Loma Prieta Chapter is the Sierra Club’s sixth largest chapter with 23,000 members covering San Mateo, Santa Clara and San Benito counties. Your participation at this event would be a tremendous morale booster for our membership.
Our outreach for the event includes newsletter announcements, direct mail
and phone invitations. We have invited other members of our congressional
delegation including Anna Eshoo, Zoe Lofgren, and Mike Honda and will be
reaching out to other elected officials.
The event details are as follows:
Date: Sunday, August 22nd
Time: 4pm - 5:30 pm
Location: Lucie Stern Community Center, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, cross-street Embarcadero
