Women's Roundtable with Joe Simitian

Assemblymember Joe Simitian (21st AD) is hosting a roundtable discussion to talk about legislative and budget priorities as they relate to women in California. The Santa Clara county Office of Women's Advocacy is hosting at the United Way Building in Room 105 on November 12 from 3:00 - 4:30 pm. The United Way Building is located at 1922 The Alameda in San Jose.

The meeting will be informal and will have the following goals:
- Allow me to update women leaders on challenges and opportunities we may be advancing on the legislative front.
- Allow women leaders to share their concerns and priorities for the upcoming year – particularly as they relate to legislative and budget issues at the state level.
- Provide a comfortable and supportive space to brainstorm possible approaches to state issues of concern to women in our area.

Assemblymember Simitian has hosted similar meetings in the past with leaders in many communities on various issues. They have all been helpful in shaping his legislative outlook, and he has been pleased to take away legislative ideas that later became law. He always come away from these discussions with an improved understanding of community needs and concerns that inform his work in the legislature.

Please RSVP by sending an e-mail to assemblymember.simitian@assembly.ca.gov, so we know how many to expect.
