Community Forum on Civil Liberties

Community Forum To Discuss The Impact of 9/11 on Minorities and The Patriot Act and its Effect on Civil Liberties, Co sponsored by India Community Center, San Jose Mercury News, Santa Clara County Library and Asian Law Alliance.

After the passage of the Patriot Act, there have been numerous concerns over the infringement of the civil rights of minorities. This has led us to question whether we as a nation, and in particular minority groups, a possible threat are safer in this post 9/11 climate and whether these actions are justified in the name of national security.

About the Forum

What: An informative session and discussion of the effects of the Patriot Act on the community as a whole and minority groups in particular.

Ms. Dhillon's legal career includes serving as an Assistant District Attorney in the San Francisco District Attorneys Office, where she focused on Domestic Violence and Hate Crimes cases.
